This is a view northward up Central Avenue in Phoenix. North of the central business district, Central Avenue becomes a residential street with old shade trees, some of which have leaves that turn colors like trees in the East and Midwest. This is unusual for Arizona.
This area is irrigated, which enables the deep watering needed for trees like these.
North Central is a desirable, older residential area. Most of the homes were built by the 1970's, have been well maintained, and the area is only 5-10 minutes from the midtown business district and 10-15 minutes to downtown Phoenix.
This week we are showing photos of the cathedral and street scenes of Grenada, Nicaragua, posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

I drive up that street all the time and I never noticed the trees turning yellow.
