This saguaro cactus is bursting with buds about to bloom.
Saguaros take about 80 years before the spout their first arm. They are so slow growing and in such high demand for landscaping that some thieves steal them. The federal government prosecutes cactus rustlers who steal saguaros from public lands.

May and June are delightful in Scottsdale/Phoenix with the saguaro blossoms in bloom.
It almost seemed like there were more than usual saguaro blooms this year.
