They do not belong in the rocks, under a bush, by a cement driveway at a home.
The mother and little ones were not near water, which can be very dangerous especially in the Arizona heat.
There are groups like Liberty Wildlife who can help provide animal rescue when this situation occurs. And that is who we called. But some of them ended up in a neighbors fountain until all of the little ducklings could be captured.

Those are ducks out of water. Obviously the ducklings were hatched nearby, but the mother must gave gone astray to make a nest in a desert residential area, rather than around a lake or pond somewhere.
Tooo cute for words! Glad they were rescued!
Quack, quack, quack ....
So, cute. I'm glad they were rescued. One day, about a year ago, I was driving down Indian School Road near 16th Street when all of the traffic came to a stop. A duck and all the little ducklings were crossing that busy road to get to over the canal on the other side. I was so happy that all those drivers were of the nature to protect these little ones.
How cute! I'm glad they were rescued.
My goodness, you would think a mother would know better.
It's great that you keep an eye out and actually do something. So many people woudn't know what to do. Cute shot Julie.
