This photo was taking just before the storm started. Although you can see raindrops that had landed on the redrock making spots on the sandstone.
I found this tree and red sandstone near Page, Arizona on Navajo lands. I had to hike back in to find it though.
It is a amazing that a little green bush and small tree can find a way to grow on these red cliffs.

It looks like the wind has made it lean a little.
That's how we see that nature is stronger than anything. It will survive us :)
I love the tenacity of nature! Whenever I see a lone tree such as this I think of the "witch tree" near Grand Marias, MN. There's a whole legend surrounding it. Your photo is lovely!
I like the photo so much.
Nice shot. I always ponder how a weed can grow up through my walkway and the pool deck. Those roots have to travel a long way.
Beautiful. I have always wanted to go to this area just to photograph the landscapes.
You've captured the energy of the approaching storm beautifully here.
Really nice, Julie. I always liked the idea of the lone tree ... and this is just so nice.
Old trees do not allow anything to bend them.
Please have you all a nice Sunday.
Somehow they find a way to survive. Great shot.
Sometimes walking back to find something again is worth it, like in this case. Cool photo!
