Such a stormy afternoon with the beauty of the red sandstone and untouched sand dunes with flowers.
I parked on the roadside and hiked into the sand dunes to see this wonderful site. It was off the beaten path. You will see some more of these sand dunes on Navajo lands.
Today is Sunday so we have new travel photos on Viva la Voyage. You can see new photos of Colonia del Sacramento, Uruguay, a Unesco World Heritage Site. It was such a great place we wanted to share more of them with you. It is a very quaint historic place.

Yes, there is something about those flowers, the red stone, and the sky that make this a gem of a shot.
If you like these sand dunes, there is a place not very far from here that has spectacular coral dunes. It's just across the border into Utah and it is call Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park. Do you want to go sometime?

BEautiful shot !! The colors of the rock is fantastic..
Such colors! For the eyes to glide on.
This looks like what you would expect of the Arizona desert -- red rocks, sand dunes, and scarce vegetation. Most of the Arizona desert, however, has lots of plants, many of which you have shown in the past.
Iam enjoying your great photos of the red sand, dunes, vermillion cliffs, etc. I don't know where you would travel to see these beautiful and unique landscapes.
Fab shots, I have no idea how it is live in or near a desert, but the views are very cool.
Very beautiful, Julie! What a wonderful trip you've been on!
A trip full of beauty and contrast!
It is pretty! The color reminds me of Monument Valley.
It must have been wonderful to hear the wind across those stones, taking a bit of its sand, wispering it into your shoes ;)
A wonderful new week for you.
