I like this photo of a grouping of wild flowers.
These flowers were in the middle of nowhere below Vermillion Cliffs. There was a little water leaking ever so gently from a pipe that was providing water from a spring to Lee's Ferry lodge, where we were staying.
This little bit of water caused these flowers to grow and made a very nice oasis in the middle of the desert.
You can see the red plant called Indian Paintbrush (castillejia chromosa). It is actually the state flower of Wyoming, but we have it in Arizona also.
I believe the top plant is bush penstemon, I do not know the name of the wonderful yellow and red flowers at the bottom right of the photo.

I know what Indian Paintbrush is, but not the names of the others. In any case, this is an eye-catching photo of a beautiful natural arrangement.
This is a gem of a shot. The colors are so autumnal.
A little water does wonders in the desert.
Delightful colors. It only takes a little water in the desert to bring them out.
Your flowers are quite beautiful. All of our flowers are gone for this year and will return in 2010.
Stunning image. LOVE those colours!
Very pretty flower clusters. You could have been in a garden the way they are spaced.
what vivid and lively colors!
This is a colorful grouping of flowers. It looks like you captured them in the early morning or late afternoon softer glow of the sun.
It's a beautiful photo, reminisent of Midwest fall colours!
Note: I am taking a "blog sabbatical" for a few months to catch up on my life and to take care of some personal things. I will not be commenting, but I will check on some of my favorite blogs from time to time. I'll back, though!!
So pretty it made me smile =)
Just a little water and nature puts on a glorious show!
Very pretty! Nature does know how to make nice floral arrangements. :)
These are really lovely. Isn't the penstemon the one the butterflys enjoy?
What a lovely shot this is! You keep on amazing me with the 'red' previous photos. How gorgeous!
Yes, Julie - this is so pretty. The red is enthralling.
Just goes to show, water makes all the difference.
What a beautiful little spot Julie. I'm glad you found it!
The Indian paintbrush is my favorite - so rich in color.
What a find this little oasis is!
And an excellent photo, as usual!
Perfect for a nice aquarelle!
A wonderful oasis. What a mix of color, and what a little water can do.
No painter could have it done better.
A colourful week for you.
Desert flowers keep the same tones as the sand!!
These are beautiful! The photo looks like a painting....
A bouquet done by Mr. Nature / Mr. God the creator ;-) Stunning and beautiful colors!
