On one of the days of Thanksgiving Weekend, we flew from Sedona to Grand Canyon West airport. As our small plane took off from Sedona, the pilot circled around the southern part of Sedona, including this view of Cathedral Rocks.
As the morning shadows show, this is a view of Cathedral Rocks from above and from the east. This is the exact opposite perspective of the classic photo of Cathedral Rocks that is shown on countless postcards and other views of Sedona. Usually, Cathedral Rocks are viewed in late afternoon, from the west, looking up.
Today is Sunday, so we have new photos posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are showing photos of the people of Ethiopia, from out trip there last month.

The day we flew out of Sedona was a spectacular day, and this was one of many spectacular sights that day.
A very appropriate post for a Sunday. It looks quite spectacular and is humbling as nature is so majestic!
Great view! That must have been a fun adventure. A few years back, David and I took a helicopter from Wickenburg to Sedona for lunch. The views were spectacular.
A pretty, pretty scene.
