Photo: Lone Tree Growing from a Sedona Cliff

It amazes me how trees can grow in the rocks on a cliff.  I suspect that the roots have found a crack in the rocks into which they have penetrated.  The sandstone of Sedona is porous, so perhaps water seeps down through the rocks to feed the roots.
