This is an unusual site for Scottsdale. This bird of prey, which I believe is a falcon or hawk, landed right in our front yard. I suspect he was in search of one of the quail or bunny rabbits that inhabit our yard. Fortunately, he did not find one, at least not while he was in our yard.
Hopefully, he went out of our neighborhood and perhaps fed on a little gopher or field mouse on the property of the church that is outside our neighborhood. We prefer to keep those critters out of our community.
Today is Sunday, so we have new photos posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are showing photos of Jerash, Jordan, which is the largest excavated Roman city outside of Italy.

I'm not sure exactly what kind of bird this is, either, but it's a great portrait of a great hunter!
You were lucky to get a shot of this nice looking bird. I think it's a Harris's Hawk.
Wow, that is an unusual sight.
This is a rare treat for urban Scottsdale.
I agree with Judy. Looks like a Harris Hawk. He probably is not picky: cute little bunny or cute little mouse.
wow, what a raptor!
