From my office I can take photos of some Phoenix landmarks, such as this photo of the top of Phoenix City Hall. In the background is South Mountain, part of the largest municipal park in the country.
The top of City Hall looks like a crown, which is rather regal for a city that prides itself on the democratic (small "d") ethics of open accessibility to and participation by the public.
The Phoenix city elections are technically non-partisan, but people know to which party the candidates belong.
Although the crown seems not to fit for a City Hall, it is worthwhile that the building has an interesting architectural feature on top, rather than a plain square shape.
This week we are showing photos of the folk art of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
