Happy Birthday to our good friend Kathye!
We celebrated with attending the Yo Yo Ma concert and had this scrumptious italian cream cake with toasted almonds and a touch of orange and four layers along with the roses made of chocolate that took a couple of days to make.
Two of her friends, Bill and Warren, made this special cake for her, and no they don't take orders and only make these special cakes on rare occasions for friends.
We have new travel photos posted at Viva la Voyage. This week we are sharing photos of Bhutan, which is in the Himalayas next to Tibet and located between India and China.

that looks scrumptious. you might mention to them that my 60th is coming up soon...
What a memorable milestone birthday for Kathye it was. A wonderful party at her house, followed by a Yo Yo Ma concert. And it was really special to see Wayne and to meet his delightful caregivers. They are special people.
That cake looks delish! It has been hard to find good bakeries out here, especially one's that specialize in Italian pastries and desserts. If you know of any, drop me a line on my blog.
Wow, I bet that was delicious!
Nice! And it is actually Italy's national holiday today. Coincidence?
What a beautiful cake and it was delicious!
Suddenly, I am thinking of Marie Antoinette: Let them eat cake!
