By coincidence, each of us has posted a colorful sunset photo today. I included an explanation for why desert sunsets are so colorful.
A short summary is that humidity in the air, just like water in a swimming pool or ocean, filters out the red colors and leaves the blue colors to predominate. With low humidity in the desert, the red colors are stronger.
