Here is a photo of a blue hibiscus petal.You can see the rich colors of the blue hibiscus flowers.
They really look purple not blue.
The frost this year meant that we had very few blue hibiscus flowers this year.

I don't think I've ever seen a blue hibiscus before, it's gorgeous. We seem to have the common old reds and orange.
The color and rippling, delicate texture of the flower is striking. It is my impression that blue hibiscus flowers are thinner than red hibiscus flowers. The petals are like tissue.
