Here is a photo of one of the various Heron we have that temporarily live and fly around at McCormick ranch and along Indian Bend Wash.There was also an Bald Eagle in the tree next to where this Heron was perched.
There is a lake below so the Eagle likes to watch and then dive for a fish.

Something is wrong with this photo. A heron in a tree is more of the type of photo I would expect on my Costa Rica Daily Photo site, not your site of a city in the desert.

There are more of these in the valley than one would expect. I've seen them in a few different parks that have water features.
It always amuses me to see such a large bird perched on such a small area. Nice capture!
Beautiful picture. Looks like all the colors are reflecting on the tree and the bird. I like the orange color all over.
