Remarkably, this dramatic scene is not out in the mountains or the desert, but on the top of one of the buttes in Papago Park between Phoenix and Scottsdale.
The lone hiker/climber has a view from the middle of a metropolitan area of about 4 million people.

Beautiful photo! In August I was in Tatra mountains, and I try to take a photo of people on the distant pass. But I wasn't so lucky!
