Photo: Border Patrol Along Fence

Today's photo shows the long border fence between Arizona and the United States and Mexico.

You can see the spotlights that are beamed onto the fence all night long.

The road on the American side of the border fence has been scraped for the border patrol to use as a dirt road to patrol along the lengthy border fence.

Thanks, Julie, for this photo. On the portal it looked like a lonely and desolate road, and what a surprise when I opened it. It looks pretty creepy. Reminds me of the Berlin Wall.

I like this photo. Getting rid of the paved road and going with a dirt or gravel road is a good idea, that way you can see footprints in it (sorry, that's the law enforcement in me). Kate, you are right it does have the Berlin Wall, or a Gitmo Bay feel to it. Someday, I would like to see this for myself.

Really amazing! It reminds me to the Berlin Wall and its death strip too. I was a GDR citizen until the Fall of the Wall and I knew this border.

I agree with Kate's comparison to the Berlin wall.

These border photos are neat! I've heard about "the border" time and time again, but I've never seen it. Turns out my imagined version of it and the reality are a little different. Jarring. Fantastic. Beautiful photo.
