When they release water from the Salt RIver dams or when there is an intense desert rainstorm, it is amazing that desert washes and low lying roadways that cross the normally dry stream beds can fill with water quite quickly.
What amazes me are the number of people who think they can still cross these washes when there is water running. I'm glad they started charging for rescue services when people cross the warning barriers.

And sometimes when you try to control it it gets even worse.
And I would imagine the erosion consequent to the flooding is pretty significant.

That is a little scary!
I've been in hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, and ice storms but perhaps one of the scariest situations was a flash flood.
