Most locals are doing "staycations," which applies in the hot summer.
It means locals take a break from their residences and drive to one of our many resorts and stay for the weekend with a special deal. Instead of going on vacation, they stay and take a vacation, which is called a staycation.
People hang at the pool and enjoy the amenities while tourists are out of town because of the summer heat.
As you can see from the photo, the Phoenician has a great pool to enjoy.

Yup, we do that sometimes too, especially when neither of us can take a long break from work.
Love the curve of the pool and the tents!
Many years ago the resorts used to close in the summer. Now, they market themselves to locals for staycations to keep operations going and keep their staff employed.
Looking inviting. Lots of stay-cations going on here in Florida.
A lot more people taking advantage of the pool than I would have thought.
That's such a great idea! The resort would be a great place for a weekend getaway, especially without the hastle of traveling far! And that photo is just fantastic :D
Hmmm.. a staycation sounds good! I think I needed one :-)
I know it's really, really hot, and probably too hot. But I'm envious.
So vivid it hurts my eyes. In a good way!
