You can see the symbol for the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation is the second petroglyph from the left.
Petroglyphs are rock art made by removing part of the rock's surface by carving or incising the rock to create the art.
Petroglyphs are thousands of years old. We have a lot of petroglyphs in Arizona and the surrounding Southwest.

Cool ancient art work, Julie! I guess they didn't have iPods, iMacs and iPhones back then?
We had pet rocks as kids but don't recall ever carving art on rocks! These are really great additions to the museum. Thanks for sharing.
They really are timeless in their beauty.
Now I know I have to go back for another tour. I don't remember seeing this at all.
One of the things I like about your blog is that you not only take nice photos, you take interesting ones.
Hi, we have this kind of work here too, they´re so misterious!
Happy new year to you too!
These are so interesting! I remember seeing some at the Painted Desert.
I've been to the Phoenix area many times and never toured Taliesin. I'll have to make it a priority next time.
Wonderful... I've been very impressed by Native American art, and especially felt some connection to the art of the Northwest Native Americans. I wish I had enough space to put many prints of their art when I was moving back to Croatia from Seattle. I guess I have to leave it for a tourist visit :)
I love Wright's integration of natural settings and structures. It doesn't surprise me that he thought of introducing petroglyphs too.
Very nice.
What a wonderful sprial of time.
Please have you all a nice Friday.
Ssomething else I've learned today - petroglyphs. It's very different from the rock art in Australia.
Cheers.

One of the more famous of Wright's buildings is the Marin County Civic Center.
