Some of you may remember this interesting cactus that has a soft fuzz on it that serves as sunscreen.
Someone had asked me to post the photo of the flower from this cactus. I did not know if I would see a flower, but it finally happened.
This cactus is called Astrophytum myriostigma. The cactus comes from Mexico and produces bright yellow flowers, like the one you see in the photo.

You're terrific, Julie.
Gorgeous yellow flower!
Pretty!
Mellow Yellow! Lovely! Happy Weekend, Julie!
Neat! I've never seen a flower on a cactus. Guess we don't have the right conditions here.
Lovely!
It is a beautiful yellow Julie!
So delicate!
Beautiful!
About your latest postings, very nice all of them, what struck me most is the name Taliesin. It's a good friend's name, who died 10 days ago, of cancer.
And it is also Merlin's real name, in King Arthur's saga, as Merlin was a title, not a name.
Oh what a beautiful flower. I've heard of flowering cactus but never seen one - at least not like that. Such a lovel ycolour.
Cheers.

That really is a nice one Julie. Thank you for sharing.
This is just the cutest little thing!! Great capture!
Beautiful flower and the photo! Does it bloom annually, or it's one of those cacti that bloom once every second never?
You seem to have a green thumb with yellow flowers Julie!
Catus flowers, really beautiful. Real gems amidst the desert. Thankyou.
Love its deep colour!
