Here is a male Gambel's Quail in its natural habitat, the Sonoran Desert.These male quail look so princely.
I really like having these critters around and they always travel in groups.
We have photos of Murano, Italy at Viva la Voyage! Murano is an island in the Venetian lagoon, known for being the center of glass blowing for centuries.

I could have used this photo awhile back as a reference. I did several tiles of Gambel's quail in stoneware. I like these little creatures very much
He is a beautiful bird. I hope these quail are not hunted.

He does indeed look princely - perhaps he's hoping to catch the eye of a lady quail?
