Here is a lone tree on sandstone located on Navajo lands. You can see a storm is brewing.
This almost looks like a bonsai tree. The angle of the bushes and the tree show there is a lot of wind that races across this red sandstone plateau.
Two of what I think are my best slot canyon photos are coming up over the next two days.

Hello sweet Julie, your picture is awesome!
I hope you were safe at home with that storm coming!
Beautiful and magical tree, a perfect detail in this post!
Have a great week!

It's a good one Julie. Easy to see that a storm is coming.
The angle you've got here shows a pride and defiance on the part of the rock and the tree against the challenging forces.
It is storms like the one brewing and the wind that has shaped that sandstone formation with such beauty.
Amazing shot Julie!
Brave little tree which bents but doesn't break...
Your photos often remind me of something else-association is sometimes peculiar. This tree reminds me of "the witch tree" in northern Minnesota. Very different environments, but captivating subjects--both of them.
I'm provoked with blogspot since I and many others have lost their lists of followers, plus I do not know how to fix it. A fresh start never hurts, but without knowledge to repair it, it's just plain frustrating!! I tried to add to yours, but no luck!
This lone tree against the sandstone backdrop makes a great shot.
I like the composition of this one. That tree does look lonely.
It almost looks like the wind is already blowing and has bent the tree.

I can't wait.
Another wonderful photo - the first thing I noticed was the wind impact on the tree growth. Very cool, we have it too in the coastal region...
Excellent capture. I can feel the wind blowing and it's making me cold. Fall is definately here.
And still you tease with more slot images.
It is a German saying, that 'old trees won't allow anything/-one to bent them.'
A remaining week filled with strength for you.
Lovely little tree. Just catching up on your pictures after being gone. Slot canyon is such a fantastic and other-worldly place. Your pictures of it are wonderful.
A shot of substance!
Even in the face of a storm I have to say you live in a beautiful part of the country.
This little tree reminds me of an umbrella! I also see a lot of wisdom and strength in it.
