Mallard Ducks Flew in and Used My Swimming Pool

Look who came to swim in my pool. Mallard ducks.

This was quite a surprise. I didn't think I wanted Mallard ducks living in my pool.

I have a lot of wonderful critters that live in my yard, but ducks may be taking it a little too far.

You can see the male duck swimming amid the fallen white oleanders flowers in my pool like he owns the place.

In the last photo, you can see he was not real keen on me taking photos through my sliding glass door so he jumped out of the pool.

After a little while, they finally flew away.

I think they realized we had a pretty active backyard and did not want to share the space with the many rabbits, quail, lizards, and occasional coyotes passing through, etc.

Quack, quack! The duck doesn't own the pool?
I'm curious about the Asian sculpture at the corner of the pool.....

I don't think he had the slightest doubt that he owned the place. Looks like a very pretty statue in the background. Like Leif I am curious.

They left because they felt your pool isn't what it's quacked up to be.

This is so cool! It seems your yard has been much visited lately! :-) And of course, I love the echinocactus on the 1st shot!

I think they are cute, but I wouldn't want them in the pool either! At least they aren't as obnoxious as geese.

I see the rabbits roaming your neighborhood every time I visit you, but I didn't know you had so many other wild animals lurking about. I'm glad you were able to capture photos of these "swimmers" passing through.

What a lovely pool. That is a duck with very good taste.

I get a lot of wildlife in my yard here in Queen Creek/Gilbert, but it's always plain geckos, black birds, and brown rodents and rabbits. Nothing like the colorful visitors you've had! Great photos!

You'll have to keep track of all the critters that come to visit. Lizards, birds, ducks, what's next??

Very pretty ducks. I usually have to go to the Public Garden in the downtown of Boston to see ducks.

Of course Sir Duck was upset with you! Wouldn't you be upset if you were skinny dipping and someone took your picture? :)
