Photo: Deep Arizona Forest

Where are the cactus and sage?  I am sure it will surprise many to hear that Arizona has the world's largest Ponderosa pine forest.

This is part of the view of the dense forest that stretches across northern Arizona in the area around Flagstaff.

Although Arizona is best known for its hot deserts and the Grand Canyon, there is a lot of forest land  in Arizona as well.  Approximately 80% of Arizona is public land owned by the federal government.  Much of it is national forest land.

This week we have photos of a night at the opera in Paris posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

This does not look like what people think of when they think of Arizona. Hopefully we can preserve the pine forests.
