Photo: Cactus blooms

This is one of the cacti that we have in potion our patio.  This is the time of year that many of the cacti bloom, and this cactus has sent out buds that will soon bloom into giant flowers.  Many cactus flowers seem disproportionately large in comparison to the size of the plant.  They bloom for a short time, sometimes as short as one day.
