Photo: Prickly Pear Paddle at Night

This is another of the photos that Dave took with his iPhone at the Desert Botanical Garden's iPhone photo workshop.  I think that the single paddle of a prickly pear  cactus looks better at night because it is isolated against the darkness than it would look with the distraction of a background during the day.

This week we are showing photos of Valparaiso, Chile, which has the most extensive and talented street art of any place we have visited, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

One other aspect of iPhone photography is that I don't have high expectations for the finished product, so when a photo comes out well it is a treat.

I'm impressed with these night time shots taken with an iPhone.

Not hard to see how this cactus got it's name.
