Photo: 3 balloons at sunrise

Hot air balloon flights are typically at sunrise,  That is especially true in the warm Arizona weather.  The cooler air surrounding the balloon enables the balloon to achieve more lift as the air inside the balloon heats up.

This photo shows the other three balloons that flew with us, shortly after take off.  I had to shoot into the the direction of the sun, so I apologize for the color of the sky in this photo.

You can Oak Creek in the background.  This is south, or downstream, from Sedona, as the wind carried us in that direction.

This week we are showing photos of the colors of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

The balloons are catching the light so much more than the ground in this photo that they really stand out.

I just love the fact that all have the same color and yellow is a plus for this beautiful picture.
