Photo: Cactus Toothpicks

Here is a macro photo of a diamond cholla cactus I planted in my backyard several years ago.

I like how the sun catches the ends of the cactus spines and they look like toothpicks.

The red tiny flowers on top look like a hair-do.

This diamond cholla is unusual in the comparison of a very narrow body and very long thorns.

Good title for this. Those thorns could very well be toothpicks.

I love cholla.Especially how they seem to glow in the sun! I have not seen too many of these kind though. Thanks for sharing.
