Biosphere 2 Structures

Here is a photo of the outside of some of the biomes at Biosphere 2. This is the other side of yesterday's photo.

The sealed structure included a 1,900 square meter rainforest, 850 square meter ocean, 450 square meter mangrove, a 1,300 square meter savannah grassland, a 1,400 square meter fog desert, a 2,500 square meter agricultural system, a human habitat, and a below ground level technical infrastructure.

Over the next few days I will show you the inside of Biosphere 2.

The buildings are very interesting.

This is a gorgeous shot, Julie. I continue to enjoy this series on Biosphere 2 more than I can say. Everything still looks in extraordinarily good condition. Are the buildings being maintained? Used in any way?

If not for the blue sky and vegetation, this would look like a scene from another planet.

Can't you just picture this structure on some other planet?

Very interesting series of pictures. This place is so 'other worldly'. The shot today is outstanding because of the vivrant color and composition.

This is really a complicated endeavor. I don't remember if you said how this was financed.

What an elaborate structure! I think we're ready to conquer other worlds ;-)
