Here is a photo of the outside of the sealed structure of Biosphere 2.Biosphere 2 had two research missions.
The first mission had a crew of eight people and lasted from 1991 to 1993.
They really lived only in this structure and did not leave for two years. The crew was monitored by a medical doctor inside and an outside medical team.

I thought it was a garden conservatory. Never heard of this experiment before, but it sounds fascinating.

I remember the hoopla when they entered the Biosphere so many years ago. I didn't think the structure was still standing.

The shape of this building looks so striking against the blue Arizona sky.
Nice shot with the blue sky in the background. I forgot about the fact that they had to stay inside for 2 years. What a challenge.
