Saffron Tower and Papago Mountain

Another Chihuly favorite was the Saffron Tower.

The Saffron Tower stands strong and colorful in front of Papago Mountain.

Some of you may remember that the Saffron Tower was lit at night and created quite a glow.

Check out other Saffron Tower photos and Chihuly glass art in the desert environment by clicking on the Chihuly label below.

Also, check out travel photos of Merida, Mexico at Viva la Voyage!

A beautiful contrast!!

At first I thought that it was a drape of yellow falling from above. His yellows are magnificent. The Minneapolis Art Institute has an equally delightful piece which is a chandelier that hangs as a chandelier in the middle of a large foyer at the entrance. Can never tire of Chihuly pieces.

Striking! Papago mountain brings back lots of memories. In 1959, Lois' grandmother visited us in our apartment in Tempe. She was no young chicken but had to go climb up Papago mountain! I have photos somewhere!

Have a wonderful weekend, Julie!

I thought this was a flower - very well done and a lovely contrast with the rocky backdrop.
Cheers.
