Fuscia Cactus Flower

It is the beginning of a New Year! Time to share a gorgeous fuscia cactus flower from my backyard.

I am fortunate that this cactus continues to bloom each year. It is called echinocereus stramineus.

Nature provides us such beautiful treasures to enjoy!

Desert flowers are such an inspiration to me. And so are you, Julie. Thanks for pioneering into David Lorell country and bringing me luck.
I am always amazed by the stunning beauty of Scottsdale every time I visit SDP. You're the perfect vehicle to convey it, being such an amazing artist with that camera.
I wish you another delightful year in '10. How will we say that... just "Ten"? Sounds funny to me. We had "Oh Nine" last year, maybe "Oh Ten" now because there's still a zero before it. Here I go rambling again... but it was well worth it...
Thanks Julie

Cactus flowers are so luscious!

I understand that cacti only bloom very briefly once a year so it must be a great joy to see it.
