The tumbling shapes of the cactus are quite interesting to observe at this angle.
Generally, you do not see such a cactus forest as most different types of cactus have some distance from one another.
The Sun is a spectacular glass art piece that you can see by clicking on the label Chihuly below and revisiting the many Chihuly photos I have posted this past year. Just keep clicking older posts under Chihuly to see them all.
Check out the water animal photos at our travel site, Viva la Voyage! And yes, that is an otter in the water eating a crab right in front of us.

Thank you for showing wonderful scenery.
From the Far East.
Greetings.
What a fantastic collection of cactus! It's beautiful and very different from the snowy wonderland up here in Minnesota right now!
I like this one with the sun peeking through!
Excellent composition, Julie.
This picture was just next to a snow/ice scene from Canada on my portal - quite the contrast!
It is interesting to see a cactus forest. Not something that I come across every day, at least!
I had no idea the vast and varied cacti species, let alone is such a relatively small, densely forested area! Wow. Thank you for sharing this real phenomenon.
Have to admit that it is much alluring to touch them, even though one might get picked.
A wonderful Wednesday for you all.
I was really surprised at how dense this was too. I've never seen so many so close together.
I've seen Chihuly in an exhibition at SF MOMA but on your blog is a different, more amazing story. Beautiful shot.
