The contrast of the trees, tall grasses, the river rocks, the lake, and the blue glass crystals floating in the lake really make for a dazzling photo. We do not generally see these colors for trees and grasses especially by a lake. The blue sky helps balance the photo and enhance the crystals.
To find this treasure, you must walk to the lake at the Desert Botanical Gardens, which is quite a distance from the rest of the Chihuly installations.

That's amazing. I remember the botanical gardens (vaguely), but I think things have changed. Are those real crystals? Absolutely gorgeous and your photo makes that crystal clear!
Quite different from his other artwork that you've already featured, but I love them because they look like they belong there, if you know what I mean.
I don't think I have ever see art floating in a pond before. The only other floating art I can remember is the hand that points up out of the river near the Royal Palace in Stockholm, but it is anchored.
I tried to photograph this one at night but, without a tripod it was just not possible.
The colors are pretty!
Very interesting shot. As I remember this Chihuly was in an out of the way location. Very nice!
I really love this glass. Pity the exhibit is so far away so I'll enjoy it through your photos instead.
Thanks for following..
Amazing! Yes, I'd want to walk to the lake to see these green rocks!
I am so excited about seeing this while I'm in Phoenix. Thank you for sharing this info!!!
Wow, I love this photo! thanks for leaving such nice comment on my new blog! Emma
I love the contrasting colors.
All right Julie! This fabulous photo is enough to make us vow to visit Scottsdale. How long will the Chiluly be installed?
Also, thanks for stopping by Greensboro (NC/USA) Daily Photo today. If you hadn't, we might have missed your fabulous photo.
Thanks again, Jan
Well, after your description and all the other's comments, I don't quite know what to add, just that it really is a superb photo!
The glass color and the grass color is nice and makes me think it might be something to investigate here. I am trying to come up with ways to get rid of about 90 percent of our lawn grass.
Julie, this is so beautiful, when I first saw this pic as it was loading, it blew me away! I love the colors of the crystal glass and I think its well worth the walk! That happens to be my fav colors - reminds me of the ocean =D
Speaking of which, its time for me to hit da beach WOoooT
Oh wow, these are amazing. I would to just happen upon those.
My sister has taken me to the Desert Botanical Garden twice and it is incredibly beautiful in February...or maybe it was March.
How pretty! Thanks for following my blog and for the nice comments!
Interesting!
Wish I could go for a walk there! This is really lovely.
Amazing! is this still art?
