The North Rim of the Grand Canyon offers may spots where people can perch themselves on a rock to contemplate and admire the Canyon, as shown in this photo by Stuart from last weekend.
Tragically, every year several tourists lose their lives by getting too close to the edge. The National Park Service has signs and in many places guard rails, but in most of the area people must rely on their own judgment to keep themselves safe.
