Photo: Cacti outside Tucson

The Biosphere, which I have shown during the past week, is just a little north of Tucson.  The desert north of Tucson is beautiful, with the Catalina mountains and cacti.

Most of the cacti in this photo are ocotillo, with a few saguaros.  Other parts of the desert near Tucson have lots more saguaros, as I will show in some upcoming posts.

This week we are showing another set of underwater photos from our recent trip to the Galapagos Islands posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

You are right about the beauty of the desert around Tucson. It is a little higher elevation than Phoenix, which supports more saguaro cacti.
