Photo: Kachina Woman Vortex in Sedona

We spent Thanksgiving weekend at Enchantment Resort in Sedona.  This is the view of the entrance to Boynton Canyon across from the resort.  We had this view from our room.

This rock formation is called Kachina  Woman, and it is one of the vortexes that some people believe have special powers due to a connection with the energy of the earth.

This week we have photos of the people of Ethiopia posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

It was the picturesque red rock canyons with their dramatic rock formations that caught the eye of Hollywood location scouts after the second world war. Soon hundreds of western movies and TV episodes were being filmed taking advantage of the Sedona scenery.
