Photo: Football Team Meeting

Immediately after the football game,  the Saguaro team gathered at one end of the field and the coach had a meeting with the players.  A TV cameraman nudged his way in to the center of the meeting.

It was an emotional evening because of the outpouring of grief and support for the family of the team's equipment manager who had passed away, Tug Garcia.  They did a 50-50 raffle in the stands, and fortunately a member of his family won, so they got all the money raised from the raffle and from the sale of the t-shirts.

The school charged $5 admission to the football game.  I do not know if that is common, but I assume that the money is used to support the athletic programs in the period of very tight school budgets.

This week we are showing photos of the remarkable street art of Valparaiso, Chile, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

I trust that the locker room atmosphere of these kids is more respectful than what has been described in recent news media reports about professional football.
