The colors of this large Chihuly glass art at the Desert Botanical Garden look more like a cactus flower than the piece that I showed yesterday.
I like the detail of these large, monumental pieces. An example is below. The artistry of making the glass is compounded by the planning, design and skill to assemble the many pieces to create a large piece like this.
The last time there was a Chihuly exhibition at the Desert Botanical Garden, they had a special fundraising campaign to purchase three of the pieces, which now permanently adorn the front entrance to the Garden. I wonder if they will do the same thing this time, and which piece(s) they will choose.
This week photos of the architecture of Ronda, Spain, posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

This is the one I saw being assembled when I was there two weeks ago.
These are both monumental and intricate in detail.
This is really a spectacular piece. Would be nice if this one could stay at DBG.
