Photo: The Moon and the Airplane's Wingtip

I think this is a remarkable photograph.  Dave's son, Stuart took this photo, with Dave's help.  They rode their bicycles down to the shores of Tempe Town Lake south of Scottsdale.  That area is under the flight path for Phoenix's Sky Harbor Airport.

They took this photo by Stuart zooming in and focusing on the moon.  Dave then counted down towards when the airplanes would fly past the moon and call out signals, 5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1 to allow Stuart to anticipate when to snap the shutter.  On this photo, their timing was perfect.

Today is Sunday, so we have new photos posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.   This week we are showing photos of Valparaiso, Chile, which has the most extensive and talented street art of any place we have visited.

It took about a dozen shots before he got this one. After this one, we stopped. There was no need to take more.

Wow, impressive shot! I've tried many times to capture a shot like this. Now I know the secret, it takes two!
