Photo: IBM Punchcard Building

A business meeting in the building across the street from what is known as the IBM punchcard building presented the opportunity to take this quick iPhone photo out the window.

The exterior design on the south facade of the building looks like the old punchcards.  This was built as the Western Savings & Loan financial center.   Western S & L used to be the largest S & L in Arizona, but it became defunct in the late 1980's when the savings and loan industry collapsed after a real estate downturn in the real estate segment of the economy.

This week we are showing photos of the cathedral and street scenes of Grenada, Nicaragua, posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

It is a fitting name, that's for sure.

That building is a Phoenix icon.
