Photo: Theater Control Room at the Musical Instrument Museum

During our backstage tour of the theater at the Musical Instrument Museum, they took us up to the control room.  This view shows a computerized control panel, with two video screens with four images per screen, and the view that the operator has down to the stage below.

The MIM backstage tour was different than the backstage tour that my husband and I took about a year ago at the Sydney Opera House.   The electronics backstage at the Sydney Opera House have not been modernized since the Opera House was built.  They are now antiquated, unlike the new electronics at the MIM.

This week we have photos of Tanzania posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

When enjoying a performance, we focus on who is on the stage and overlook the skill of the people in the booth.

Your mother went to a concert at the MIM just last night.

What a great theater! We saw Fanfare Ciocarlia, a band from Romania last and it was so much fun! Not a bad seat in the house!
