This is the desert? Yes. In the middle of central Phoenix is Encanto Park, with a traditional public golf course of green fairways, lakes, and lots of palm trees.
You can easily tell that this is an old golf course. The many golf courses built in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area during the last 25 years are limited in the amount of water they can use, and they leave desert areas between the fairways, and often between the tee boxes and the rest of the fairways. The desert layouts place a much higher premium on accuracy than a course such as Encanto.
This is yet another view from my office. I like that there are no other tall buildings to interfere with the views in all directions.
This week we have photos of the the monks and ancient temples of Cambodia posted on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

Encanto Park uses irrigation to keep the grass green and healthy.
