Photo: State Fair at Night

This is a closer, zoomed in photo of the State Fair from my office at night.    When I was a child growing up in Mesa in the 1960's, it was always a special treat to come into Central Phoenix to go to the State Fair and enjoy the rides, animals, food and other Fair activities.

People in the Midwest might think that October is rather late for a State Fair, but in Arizona it is the right time because the weather has finally cooled down.  It is also beneficial for the traveling Fair workers to extend their employment season by having the Fair so late in the year.

This week we are showing photos of the main temple complex of Bangkok, Thailand on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

I used to take my boys to State Fair when they were young. It was also a very inexpensive place to attend a concert. We saw the Beach Boys, Temptations and Moody Blues over the years at the State Fair.
