Photo: Mexican fence post blossoms

When I get real busy at work, which is virtually all the time, and I need a few photos to post, I can always fall back on finding a subject to photograph in my back yard.  This is a photo of one of our Mexican fence post cacti, looking up, showing several buds in different stages of blossoming.

Our Mexican fence post plants do quite well.  We have about a dozen of them in three areas of our yard, and the blossoms like you see here have dropped and grown into clusters of additional plants.  Unlike saguaro cacti, they grow fast.

We are showing photos of the animals of Africa this week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.
