One of the pleasures of the hobby of photography for me is to combine different elements in the same photo. Today's photo is an example.
I went out to McCormick Ranch Lake to take some photographs at sunrise. The red glow from the first rays of the sun are visible on the horizon. The moon was still up, and a photo of the moon and the sunrise could be good, but it would have a lot of dead space in the photo if was simply the horizon and the moon as high in the sky as the moon was on this morning.
Therefore, I walked around to add some elements to the photo. There were some palm trees in the area, and I walked around to add the edge of an office building as well.
It was darker than it appears in this photo. This is a long exposure taken on a tripod. That is part of the reason that the moon is as prominent as it appears.
This week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site we are showing photos of the architecture of Cambodia.

Very nice. It was worth the effort to get such a great shot.
This is a nice composition.
That long exposure not only brought out the moon but the subtle colors of the sky as well. Nicely done.
Beautiful photo. The effort was well worth it.
