Photo: Backyard swimming pool at night

OK.  Sometimes when I am really busy at work, or am out of town traveling, it can be a challenge to post a new photo every day.  So, today I had to resort to a photo of part of our backyard swimming pool.

To make the photo a little creative, I took this photo at night.  It was dark, and I left the shutter open for about 20 seconds.  The sky glow lightened the horizon, and there was enough light to gently light the edge of the pool,  a few of the plants and trees, and one of the Thai statues that we have on the edge of our pool.

We we have photos of Costa Rica posted this week on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

It is amazing how a tripod and a long exposure can capture images at night.

Julie, this is great. I love the lighting. I might have to try that myself but, I'd have to take a picture of a cactus in my backyard.
