Photo: Homes Climbing Mummy Mountain

Here are some more houses creeping up the slope of Mummy Mountain to enhance their views and to gain privacy from everyone but the view houses that might be above them.   These houses are probably in the $5 million and up price range.

Tomorrow, I will show you a nearby backyard taken from about the same spot where I took this photo.

This week we are showing more photos from the bottom of the Grand Canyon on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

We have always been careful to buy houses in developed areas where there is a very low likelihood of someone building a monstrosity and wrecking the environment for us. Our West Hartford neighborhood is 1925 single family houses near a park, and nothing is going to change. Our Florida house is on the 9th fairway and green of a golf course, so our view is fixed.

The views must be great, but there would not be much of a level yard for children to play on these mountainside homes.

No fear of rock slides and gully gushers I guess.

Does it take an all-wheel drive vehicle to get to these houses?
