Several days ago my husband posted a "Welcome Home" photo of the entryway to our Langosta Beach condo on his Costa Rica Daily Photo site, so I have decided to post this companion photo that shows the scene that greets us upon our return home in Scottsdale.
It is nice to be welcomed home by tall palm trees, flowering plants, and a fountain. The structure in the middle is a little guard house, as our street is gated for security reasons. Gated communities have been increasingly popular during the past 20 years or so.
This week we are showing photos of Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site.

This is a welcoming scene upon arriving back home.
It is a sad reflection on our society that gated communities have become so popular, but it makes sense to reduce risk.
I've driven through those gates many times!
Good to have a safe home.
