Scottsdale is home to the nation's leading car auctions each January. The Barrett Jackson auction is nationally televised and is the most famous, but there are several other auctions held at the same time that compete for cars and customers. One of them, the Gooding & Co. auction is held in several giant tents set up in the parking lot of Scottsdale Fashion Square, close to our house.
We have never been to the car auctions, but when driving by on the day after the show closed, we had to stop and get a few photos of the process of loading cars onto tractor-trailers. I assume that these are cars being loaded for delivery to their new owners. I will show some closer scenes of this activity in the days ahead.
Today is Sunday, so we have new photos on our Viva la Voyage travel photo site. This week we are showing some photos of the architecture and gardens of the villas on the Borromean Islands in the Lakes region of northern Italy. If your family had been wealthy enough to have owned an island since the 1500's, your ancestors might have created a garden like the ones we are showing this week.

Wow, that's big truck!
Big trucks for big jobs. It's an impressive sight. Anyway, seeing those cars being loaded up provide a nice image, as if they were one step closer into being on the road again with their own four feet (or wheels). Though it's from a distance, it's easy to see why people would buy those vehicles. That one car is a beautiful shade of red, even redder than the truck.
